I just bought a 52'; Sony LCD and hooked it up to my existing analog stereo system (which worked fine from my previous Sony CRT TV). Now if I use both the TV speakers and the stereo speakers in unison, the TV plays its audio slightly before the stereo, creating an echo effect. My new HDTV audio is 1/10 of a second faster than my stereo system, creating an echo. How do I fix it?
mute the volume on the TV and just use the stereo system, i had the same problemMy new HDTV audio is 1/10 of a second faster than my stereo system, creating an echo. How do I fix it?
Turn down the TV speakers. Like the previous poster said, it cancels the surround effect anyway so why use both at the same time? Also, with some brands of TV it actually says in the owners' manual to do this as it can harm the Tv if using both at once. (I don;t know why, but my new HDTV had this statement in the owner's manual.)
First of all, turn the TV speakers down. Having them on cancels out the surroud effect anyway because they're taking all 6 channels of audio, mashing them together and then sending them out of two speakers. Then, if you have a decent home theater, you should be able to alter the audio delay.
