WhStudying to become a teacher - Need help with creating an assessment?at would you like to ask?

I have to come up with a 12 lesson program for Year 8 Science. I'm doing my program on classification of living things, and then leading into cells and cell structure. Can anyone give me some ideas for an assessment item for either of these two topics? For a good assessment of classification, you could bring in a bunch of models of different species and ask them to put them into the proper groups or some thing similar to that, that is an easy way and its fun too! Perhaps for the assessment of the cell structure, find the cross section of a cell on the internet and make copies for the students to label the parts.
